MonTango Events

Please note that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our milongas and special events are cancelled until further notice.

A milonga is a location or event where people dance tango socially. Dancing in the milongas is the goal of most tango dancers: This is the tango scene, the night life, where you get dressed up and go to mingle, socialize and, of course, dance. Dancers in a milonga are expected to be able to navigate the floor smoothly and to follow certain codes of conduct. (Read more here.) A crowded milonga full of expert tangueras and tangueros can be intimidating for new dancers.

As of July 2020, we are offering a Friday práctica with limited attendance and no partner changes.

A práctica (or practice) offers a more informal setting where dancers of any level can focus on practicing their moves and improving their technique. Some prácticas, including ours, include teacher supervision. We suggest beginners start with the prácticas and move on to milongas after no less than 6-12 months of dancing.

Friday:
The "CONNEXION TANGO" práctica

Friday 8:30-10:30 p.m.

While we wait for milongas in general – and our own friendly and popular Friday milonga in particular – to return, we are able to offer a small, guided práctica for couples.

The teachers will show and give feedback on a simple move, concept or sequence, which you can add to your repertoire. They remain available to answer questions throughout the práctica.

Partners and advance reservations required (by e-mail). No partner changes; attendance is limited to respect distancing guidelines.

$10 per person
